many people here at PC seem to know their Myers Briggs type...

just wondering, how many know your T's?

I have wondered about telling the therapist I am an INTP. We have never discussed it. I don't know what the woman thinks about the myers-briggs test. I don't know hers.

My T told me, but I can't remember it now. I know we're both introverts, but I can't remember the rest for my T. I do remember thinking that it fit her and was what I expected, though.

I am ESFJ and I'll ask him next time I see him , I find that if you spend enough time with someone you can almost guess their's without even taking a test... like SD . not surprised...

you know, pausepuppy, I went and looked up INTP just briefly and I feel I understand you a little better, and therapy through your eyes. I would send you a virtual hug but you don't accept them.

I guess I wonder about the MBTI of a T because I noticed somewhere the opposite of my 'type', and I looked THAT up and found, a person with an outstanding ability to get others to trust him/her. if that's my T, I'm cooked.... ya think?
Thanks for this!

Okay - you made me curious, and I knew I'd written it in my journal when T and I talked about this...

I'm an INTJ but sometimes I'm an INFJ (I pretty much fall right in the middle between T/F, so it just depends on my mood that day).

My T is an INFP

I'm an INFP. I would guess that my T is an ENFP.

I think the myers briggs is sort of old hat these days. I have been to many Ts in my time and nobody has ever brought it up or given me that test, not once. I think its because regardless of your INTJ or whatever your result on that test is, people have the capacity to grow and change and thus the myers briggs test is a very short term assessment.

I used to be INTJ before the breakdown 5 years ago but now I am ISTJ.

I think the Myers Briggs is more commonly used in job settings or with career counselors. I have had to take the test several times for different employers. I've also taken some more "modern" tests in work settings but they didn't seem to add much that you can't get with Myers Briggs.

T1 didn't test me or bring it up, neither did T2; I did myself to help resolve something in my therapy.

T2 (who teaches Psych & is involved in public programs) said that one of the good things about MBTI is that its results essentially do not change as people go through the events of their lives. Not to say that someone couldn't be close to the N/S delineation from the start and so identify more with N at some point and S at another.
It's certainly widely used. She commented that the only more reliable tool today is some 200+ question form (I forget the name of it) that's used for forensic purposes only.
I had a lot of questions about both tests, & I appreciated that she spent some time telling me about them. To me, tremendously interesting.

I'm an INFP and I am quite curious as to what my T is. I honestly have no idea... I feel weird asking her though. Is it a weird thing to ask? I just feel so awkward :P
