I have now been to 3 EMDR (eye movement desensitization therapy for trauma) therapists. The fruitless wandering is getting expensive! I have forgotten how hard it is to find a good therapist, let alone someone who also practices EMDR.

I am sensitive to countertransference. It feels intrusive to me and like the therapist doesn't see me when she's addressing her own feelings rather than mine. I find that it's hard for me to build trust under those circumstances.

I would love to find someone who is warm, easy going and careful not to tread across boundaries (like telling me what I should think).

Any help would be most appreciated. Even if you could recommend a non-EMDR therapist in the DFW area that fits these personality qualifications, I might ask them for a referral.

Thanks!
