So I have a slight fantasy of T turning up at my house. It would be due to something random, like her car breaking down or her husband playing football at the park across the road.

I wondered if anyone else had ever imagined this happening, or if, given the choice, you would like T to come to your home?

Never imagined it, no. If given the choice I'd say he!! yeah c'mon over! Ah but it would never happen. *sigh*

p.s. I must say though that at the same time I respect her strong boundaries and in hindsight though I've hated them in the past I am grateful for them now.

OMG...no!!! My house is a complete disaster, so I would NOT want T coming to my house. Now, if my house was clean....that'd be a different story.

Just yesterday I told my T that I often imagine that he comes to my house and I show him around, especially my room and my books. Sometimes I imagine this to comfort myself and fall asleep.. Also, I often dream of him coming to my house. But, every time in my dreams, everything goes wrong! I also fantasize about meeting him outside, when I go for a walk, even though I know there is no chance of something like that happening. When I see somebody from a distance, I wish he would be my T...

In the fantasy realm I've visualised something happening to me and T turning up to offer comfort to my children. Quite a metaphor for what she actually is doing.

It depends, but I'd probably be okay with it. I've been so emotionally naked that there's not much left to hide. I wouldn't want him to start chatting with me like I do with friends. But coming over would be okay. I know people whose therapist has given them a ride home, or hte therapist went over to the house so they could play their not-very-easily-transportable musical instrument which was part of her therapy (performance panic). Or I knew of a therapist that went to people's homes instead of making them come to an office.

I've totally fantasized about this. I wish my T would come to visit me. Like another post said, I would show her all around my house. The other day I was wishing she could come see my Christmas tree. We both like decorating as a hobby, and I'm so proud of my tree. I know she would love it too

well... not sure what to say. I guess the answer is no.

That being said, t *has* come to my house... many times actually. it is not fun. I never imagined her sitting on the patio in the backyard, or standing in my kitchen. It was not the fantasty that I imagined. It was stressful.

Hi Jendifa,

Found your post interesting, and can relate in a way.
When I had therapy earlier this year, My therapist, (who I had tranference feelings for), said he will help me, when I was to see him again. He had promised that cos my Ocd was more of a problem at home, that he will visit me! I was really happy and looking forwards to this around this time of therapy. But unfortuanatley, after alot of heartache, I now, will Not be seeing him, and have been transferred to someother place for therapy! So its was nice to think about, but it is NOT gonna happen.

I'd like to invite her to dinner, but it's pretty certain she'd never accept.

I'm glad to see other people feel the same way, and also that others don't (so maybe the wanting it to happen will end soon!)

I've bumped into her in public a few times, and served her coffee when she came into the cafe I worked in. I just imagine it would be different if she turned up, unannounced one time!

I'd be a bumbling fool if she showed up on my doorstep. A little to close for comfort. So my answer is no it would freak me out to much.

I wouldn't want my T to come to my house because I would worry that it wouldn't be clean enough or good enough. I often fantasize about being able to go to her house though.

One of the craziest things my therapist has done was come by my apartment unit. I had told her about my beautiful zinnias, which I was growing on the front stoop in little containers. She said she would come by to see them after session.

I went home afterwards, not really thinking she was going to come by. I was in the middle of taking off my work clothes when I happened to look out of the window and see her coming up the walk. Because I was shirtless and I didn't want to risk her even just catching a glimpse of my silohuette through the glass, I ran into the other room. I didn't come out until I was absolutely certain she was gone.

The next session, she told me about her "visit", mentioning the crazy-looking neighbors and everything. I didn't say anything about having seen her. It was weird when it happened, but now I can say that it was one of those things that made me feel closer to her.

I've since moved and she has seen where I live (while dropping me off). Once she has chastised me for keeping my grass too tall and told me to buy a lawnmower, for pete's sake.

I once thought I saw t picking up pizzas at the Dominos across the street from my house. I thought about what it would be like for t to come over - then I was mortified that my flower beds were more weeds than flowers at that point and decided she should stay on the other side of the street.

I would hide in the closet until she was gone.
