Ok that sounds worse than meant. But basically because of my early neglect, the chemicals that are form from a nuturing bond aren't there in relation to others. I laughed and said but my brain does work, I'm here. But as she explained it I had to phase out. It begun to feel to sad thinking about what was missing. I Said I need to let the air out of this balloon slowly.

Right now maybe but not forever. You can change this.

I love your t. She's right but you can teach an old dog new tricks. It just takes time.

Oh and lots of bacon.
Thanks for this!

That's what's so cool about our brains. We can still change them, even if we didn't make the right neuroconnections when we were little. It's not quite the same, but it can make a world of difference. Gotta love neuroplasticity.

this is where I was yesterday too; T went over the whole thing about neural pathways, very thoroughly, very clearly, very patiently, and so kindly, because it's not the first time she has done so (or the second time). I appreciate her patience but it was a little discouraging to realize (yet again) that we are going over that ground ...yet again.......

the bottom line is,
changing the wiring does take time. However much I would wish otherwise. and
it can happen. However much I tend to doubt it.

((((((( EM ))))))) hang in there.

I'm always apologizing to T for going over the same things again and again. He tells me that repetition is really the only way to build new neural pathways, so I'm not to apologize for it.
Thanks for this!
