so me and t were talking about the things I do to calm myself down when I get really anxious. I told her I like to pray and write poetry. so my new assignment is to write a prayer in the form of a poem and bring it in. ugh....i hate sharing mt poetry with another person. it is so personal.

hi melissa. i write poetry too. i had 'locked up' that part of myself for many many years and with my t's help we unlocked it so I'm writing again and it's so wonderful. because she was integral in unlocking my writing, i began sharing my poems with her. it was hard at first. especially cuz she asked me to read them out loud. but i did it, and she has been extremely supportive of my writing ever since. it was really hard the first time like you said cuz it is so personal, but i was already at a point where i had trusted her with a lot of other stuff, so i took a deep breath and shared. now i can't wait to share new poems with her. nice to meet a fellow poet! best wishes to you!

Can you start with just writing it and not even think about sharing it? Share if you want to, but don't, if it feels wrong. I think the act of writing can be healing.

Here it is: might as well get some feedback here too:

Dear Father,
Today I know I am not a bother.
You love me just the same.
and loving others is my aim.
Grant me power
and be my anchor
as I live the life
You've given with some strife.
Nothing i can't overcome
with your help so awesome.
Amen.

what do you think?

One more poem for those with anxiety:
Dear Father,
Your love for me is big and real
and to me, A really big deal.
Help me to show your love
and others give you credit above.
My anxiety is high
help my fears to say good-bye.
Its your power that helps me through
when things seem so blue.
Thank you.
Thanks for this!
