Hey Ya'll

I haven't been on here in forever-I'm sure most of you don't remember me-but I still read the threads all the time but haven't been posting-life has been intense and the healing journey is A LOT of hard work right now. My T is super proud of me for all the work I have been doing in session. I've also began a relationship (2 months strong!) and that is A LOT of work too! (especially when you are terrified of intimacy). T has been soooo amazing in helping me navigate through this relationship and these feelings-and on top of that we are still processing trauma (I'm exhausted)! I've had some intense struggles with depression and some ptsd symptoms that are horrible!! Some of you may remember that T and I were working on figuring out my "internal system" and realized that I have DDNOS (T said it doesn't really matter what the DX is-but is proud of me for letting him into my world). I agree it's nice to have names for things and help explain-and to learn where they come from (how I survived).
He scared me tonight though at first-he said he wanted to talk to me about something because he knows I get anxious when he is away or has to change his schedule-and I was so worried he was going away for a long time or something-but he just explained that his mother-in-law is dying and they are not sure how much longer and that there might be a time he has to call and tell me we have to rearrange.
Anyways-I have a little one that wanted him to read to her-and tonight he did-he read an Alice in Wonderland book-and it was amazing-she enjoyed it so much!! T sat next to me on the couch and was really good at reading to me! He said he would read to me anytime I wanted-he enjoys it too!
I didn't want to leave at the end-he said he knew that it's tough to leave but that I take him with me (he joked that he couldn't really go with me)-little one said that she didn't want to go-and he said it was important to care for other people too-she said she didn't care (he laughed and he said he knew-but that he cared about them too) he did say it was different (he said in the past its a little different when working with his trauma clients)-the boundaries are different and it depends on the client too. Anyways-I felt so loved and connected and I'm thankful for my T

p.s. Hey to all of ya'll I used to talk to and Hi to new people that don't know me : )

So glad you had that lovely experience. My T read to me last week - it was stuff that was relevant to the session but was just so soothing.

I'm pretty new on here and don't post too much...but I'm glad that you had a lovely experience! My T read to me from a children's book (it was a kids' book, but what was written was quite profound) a few months ago, and I also found it lovely and quite soothing as well. It made me feel safe and taken care of, in a child-like sort of way....
