Note: I posted this also in the "other treatments forum", because I want as many people as possible to see it.
Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of starting a social group for discussing articles on or experiences with any forms of psychotherapy that people consider nontraditional, inovative, creative, alternative, whatever you want to call it. Usually this type of therapy involves something in adition to or other than traditional talk therapy. This could include the expressive arts (art, drama, music, poetry, and dance movement therapies), sandtray, bodywork in therapy body psychotherapy, EMDR, animal assisted therapy, ETC.
I went to Lesley university and got a BS in counseling psych and took several courses in creative arts in therapy and am very interested in this subject. I'd love to have a place on PC to discuss our experiences with these modalitys, answer questions for people interested, discuss articles and books on the subject, and and network and exchange helpful resources.
If anyone is interested just let me know and I'll start the group.
Thanks so much.

The closest I've come is therapists talking about exercise or creative outlets, so I don't have much experience to contribute, but I would be interested to read

Hi Everyone,
Glad to see there's interest! I'll hopefully get the group going tomorrow!
Learning, that's totally fine about not having experience with creative arts therapy. Maybe you'll like what you read and try it someday, or not that's ok too. Anyone who wants to be in the group can.
