Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Im just going to blurt some stuff and if anyone could help that would be awesome.

I saw a psychologist for a few sessions, and she told me she thought I had some sort of personality disorder. I left because I didn't want to be diagnosed and on the books.

I believe that everyone is conspiring against me, and try to catch people out all the time. When someone asks me to come to something, or do something, I always feel there are ulterior motives, in an attempt to humiliate me.
I find myself believing that everything, for example the way sticks are on a pavement, or how things are arranged are how people are going to treat me, or do to me.

I hear voices occasionally at night time, and this is usually just random conversations as coming from the walls or ceiling, usually quite loudly.
I also hear music when its quiet and can never find it, it just goes and keeps appearing. I also hear people screaming, and shouting my name amoungst loud noises, like the shower or cars going passed.
Also last night I was laying in bed watching a movie, and my wall turned into a full view of a paddock outside, and a fence beyond that where someone was looking through it staring at me.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Hugs from:

It's painful to be labelled and classified. Nevertheless, it can be important where medication is needed.

Can you find the strength to go back to the psychologist? If not, can you try someone else? I don't think this should go untreated.

They don't encourage us to diagnose each other, but if you have specific questions about certain disorders you may still get some information you are looking for by approaching it from that angle. Welcome!

I think the psychologist identified a place to start. We don't always stay with one diagnosis over time.

I have had a variety and now I am seeing a psychodynamic psychoanalyst for what I consider to be a personality disorder. After doing some reading, I thought it fit me and she agreed, and that's all it was ever mentioned. She doesn't like to label and we don't talk about that, we talk about what is happening in my life right now. I share your paranoia, although it isn't always there and, since being in this therapy, I have learned to identify it as my just thoughts and not reality. There is a lot to explore and learn about that process and how it begins, what it is about.

Are you looking for a different diagnosis, or suggestions for your symptoms? I'm not clear on that.

I just want to add that my when I shared a similar concern about my diagnosis, my therapist told me that often therapists will use a general diagnosis for records and billing purposes. Diagnoses such as anxiety or depression. So that might not be an issue to keep you from receiving therapy. You can clarify that with your therapist if you choose to be in therapy again.

Welcome to PC and to the forum

I would maybe go to your regular doctor and get checked out, make sure there's nothing physically wrong, many physical illnesses can cause or mimic psychiatric symptoms and mention your concerns to him/her. They probably won't diagnose you if you have a mental illness problem but might suggest someone for you to go see, a psychiatrist perhaps, that might see if they can help with meds instead of therapy, if you were not interested in that route.
