Today I wasn't in therapy mode. Had a few days of work & been doing what I enjoy. I told T I'd try to 'arrive' but my mind kept wondering. In the end T & I were talking about my hobby, she mentioned her son, first time she has ever referred to her son in 10yrs (although I know she has 2 sons through googling*stand back those who suffer googledisapprovalitious*)
Then she talked about a place I had visited recently and told me she had walked from somewhere to somewhere. I replied "****ing hell, that's a long way!!" T replied "it was ****ing hell by the time I'd finished" and she laughed.
It was nice getting that small glimpse to the woman not just the T.

It really can be helpful when you can see small glimpses of the person behind the T. Makes it easier to relate to them sometimes

My T did that too after a zillion years. I knew she had a son after 4-5 years because he called her at the beginning of a session once, when I was seeing her in a clinic, and just had to read the poem he'd written for her over the phone He was only 8 or 9 at the time and it was funny, as I saw her another few years and then many years later, when she started comparing me to her 3 year old granddaughter! But that second time, we got to talking about the sailing lessons I'd taken and she had taken the same lessons at the same place.

You seem to be struggling with that topic wiki. As you grow it will get easier.
