I am happy to report to everyone that I will be returning to Therapy, I have an Intake scheduled with the new practice that I will be going to on January 6th, and hopefully I will be able to tell them all of my preferences in a Therapist at that time. They have already informed me that all of their Therapists are female, so I don't have to worry about getting a male (since like I have mentioned on these forms before I don't think I would feel comfortable meeting with a male) I also mentioned on the phone that I would prefer someone who is anywhere from just slightly older than me (probably at least 2 years) up to about 15 years older than me (any older and I don't think I will be able to connect with them well) and they said that they have that for me. On the issue of touch (i.e. hugging) I did not mention it on the phone but really feel that I should mention it at the intake so they will be able to set me up with someone who is most suitable for me, honestly I am only looking to potentially hug on very special circumstances (a final session definitely and maybe after a very hard session but they are very rare for me) so I would be OK with having someone who doesn't normally hug but is open to it on special circumstances (my Psychologist told me that she is someone like that), in other words I am not someone who needs to be hugged all the time but I would like to know that they are there for me should I think I need one.

As Tony the Tiger would say, Grrrreattt! And you are being so clear about what you want. That is amazing. Hope you get someone that really is a good match. I love intakes because that is when there is a whole lot of information in a structured way. I like to watch what they react to because I can see them thinking through and maybe making hypotheses about what might be going on.

Thanks for all of the kind words, an interesting irony is that the person who will be doing my intake has the same first name as my last Therapist (and they told me that if she thinks she is a match for me she may decide to be my Therapist) if you think that means anything.
