It's amazing how much you can miss someone the day after seeing them. I had to go to T's office today to pick something up, just from the receptionist, didn't see her at all. I'd just come from the dentist and was feeling overwhelmed and vulnerable. And I really wished I could be in her office right then. Sometimes I sit on the floor when I really feel vulnerable and she puts blankets underneath, and pillows around. That's where I wanted to be. I wanted someone to care about me.

We've just gone through a major rupture and things have just started to get better, and now I miss her so much and it all kind of hits me at once. We only have one more session before she goes away. And I'm going away for a couple days before I see her. Worried I won't be ready when she goes. Having a "good" good-bye and leaving things on a positive note seems really important to me.

Having a cry right now. I really miss her.

It really can seem amazing sometimes; and the missing feelings can be so strong ... sorry you weren't able to go into her office today to receive some comfort and support after your dentists visit how long will your therapist be away?

It's so hard when you miss them, isn't it?

I've found it helps a little if I sort of revel in the feeling - if I let myself think about how great it is that my T is worth missing, if that makes sense?

Thanks tigergirl. She will be out of the office for 2 weeks, which means 3 weeks in between appointments.

That does make sense tinyrabbit... There has to be something good or you wouldn't miss them.
I asked her for a voicemail today and she left me one and it helped. Just hearing her voice, and she said we will make sure to have time to say good-bye and talk about the time when she's away. I don't mean good-bye forever, I just need to have a good ending before she goes away.
