...and lived to tell about it!

I know we had a thread a few months back about what we all wear to counseling, and we digressed into whether we had or would wear shorts to counseling. Since that conversation, I've been meaning to wear shorts but kept going to counseling straight from work. Today, I didn't go straight from work. So, I wore shorts! I wore running shorts, a tshirt, and flip flops. T didn't mention it. She never mentions my clothes, other than an occasional compliment on my work clothes. However, I was laughing on the inside thinking about you guys!

So, has anyone else worn shorts since our last thread? People who are new (and old) feel free to comment on what you wear to therapy.

I thought about it, pulled my shorts out but lithium has added a few extra kilos and I can't get my shorts anywhere near my hips. I would have liked to have seen T face as I think he thinks I only have 3 sets of clothes.

Possible SH trigger!!!

My very first visit (>a year & a half ago) , I PURPOSELY scheduled a job interview for afterward. I LOVED the idea of going in with the "interview" mindset & looking all in control! Lol. She said it made a huge impression. Of course it was a mask!
I MIGHT have worn shorts once when it was in the high 90s & I was going to the county fair directly after. I RARELY go out in public in shorts unless its REALLY HOT!!! Occasionally I will wear capris. Generally I wear jeans, a top (NO WORDS or Logos, more like blouses or famine T-shirts) & blazers or sweaters in the winter.
I ALWAYS WEAR HEALS!!! If I'm OUT in public (unless working) I nearly always have heels on. I'm short(5'3") and they make me feel more in control.
I have relaxed over the months of twice a week visits. I might have worn flat shoes once too.(:

Actually, right now, I don't have very many clothes that fit because I guess I've lost a few too many pounds. (Whatever, lol)
I do have some body image issues but I won't accept an ED diagnosis)
Anyway, hubby won't let me buy new clothes. Whatever... That's a rant for another thread....(;

Note: I do have scars from SH on my thighs which is why I'm very uncomfortable in shorts and my legs are.... Yucky anyway!!!!

QUESTION: Did you feel more open to sharing when you dressed down?

I'm also 5'3"--yay for short people! Usually I am dressed up or, like you, in more dressed up casual clothes. This is maybe the third time I've worn a tshirt to counseling. To be honest, I didn't notice a difference. I really, really trust my T at this point and have opened up to her about EVERYTHING. I feel like she knows me as well or better than everyone else I know. So, I feel completely comfortable around her, whether I'm in a pantsuit, dress, or tshirt.

Haven't worn shorts...yet. Typically nice jeans, belt, tucked in shirt, for shoes either my Nike running shoes or clogs, flats,boots...no heels!! And for the cooler weather...pretty much the same only add a leather jacket or denim jacket....oh...and of course "Angel".

I'm 5'3" too. Wonder about the average height of PCites. I'm way too lazy to wear heels, though.

@Bipolarartist, I laughed at the idea of T thinking you only have 3 outfits. I'm pretty sure I wear about one of three things when I go to T on my day off. Most involve some iteration of jeans/capris and a t-shirt in the summer and jeans/sweater in the winter.

I hate shorts, I think in part because I'm short and I feel like they make me look goofy. Which is not to say that I think other short people look goofy in shorts! Just my particular proportions don't exactly lend themselves to shorts.

I'm 6'1 and I've really never cared about my appearance to see my T. I figure I'm allowed to be crazy in therapy. I also guess I feel like I won't ever look good so it's better to have the excuse of not trying if she says something. Yikes.

I am 5'1". I rarely wear shorts in public. I am thin, but not in shape. I think my T only has 3 outfits.

I'm 5'3.5" (Yes, the half matters!)

I see my T directly after work today - and I opted for a fun shirt (my students are going to love it - it's so bizarre. Has zebras and roses as the focal point... and math equations covering it? Whoever designed it must have been on something...).. and I wanted to wear a skirt today, but chickened out due to seeing T after, so I'm wearing skinny jeans.
