hi there,

i've just been referred to a Community Mental Health Team.
i also have some CBT sessions to treat my OCD.. coming up next month.

i was told by a psychiatrist last week that i would need 'Long term Therapy'... to address the number of anxiety disorders i have.
and he thought that 6+ sessions aimed primarily at treating my OCD wouldn't be sufficient.

He said i'd be getting a range of psychotherapies.. and i think; that the CMHT would be able to cater for this...?

Their supposed to be contacting me this coming week...
I just don't know what exactly to expect...

i've just been discharged from an inpatient hospital...; where i was at for suicidal intentions, and a Benzodiazepam addiction, plus alcohol addiction.
i was sent away with a prescription for Diazepam... but i'm currently in between support once again.

i really hope i'll finally have some continuity ... as for three years the only 'Mental health support' i've had; has been from G.Ps.... - and they've let me down relentlessly...

apparently i'll now have a care-coordinator e.t.c...
but what does being under the care of a CMHT actually entail?

much thanks

oh yeah; in regards to being told by this psychiatrist that i would need 'Long term psychotherapy''...
:
that sounded pretty ominous to me.... - promising; that i'd have continued support... but, i don't know... it just worried/ has been worrying me.
I don't know what that means, - i guess its a good thing... that i'm finally getting proper help.
But it hasn't made me feel any more 'normal'... - quite the opposite..

My T is through the Mental Health part of the hospital. He's pretty versatile although he had a focus on CBT and Mindfuless - but I think he's already been adapting that around based on how I am.

I use county mental health but it's not called CMHT here. I see a Psychologist, GP, every other week (so does my husband and son), and psychiatrist 1x month. I have access to sign up for a fitness program with a nutritionist, case worker, group therapy, family therapy, and addiction services. If I need it there is a 24 hr crisis center where I would continue to see my T and pdoc instead of a temporary hospital dr. and therapist.
