I found this the best explanation of the process of trauma. She explains it all incredibly well and for the first time I can see why I feel like I do. I hope it is of some help to others.

Tara Brach also has some really good podcasts on healing trauma. I can't point you to a specific one, but she has many good podcasts. (In my opinion)

Thanks so much for this, she's very impressive. It can be hard to find information (talks, articles, books) on trauma that doesn't either focus on PTSD as the result of child abuse or that as the result of military combat (as a kind of dichotomy). She takes a broad view of trauma, one which is hopeful, while being deeply empathetic as well as not too facile. I certainly do agree that 'relationship' is what is healing, and most especially the therapeutic relationship.
