Thanks RTS, it wasn't bad, but very labor intensive. How have you been? Did your son take the car all day?

I'm doing pretty good... Yes he left at 8:30am for XC practice and then stayed at school for all of the Homecoming games and stuff... Came home around 5pm to eat and shower and now he's getting ready to go to the Homecoming Dance...

He goes to a private school 40 minutes away in another state....so its more time on the road and its driving on Interstate 95.
Thanks for this!

Well its not like there's any cheese in it...

You inspired me to try a new recipe - I bought a thingie of bay leaves at Target on Monday, so I added one to my quinoa water after it started boiling - along with some vegan beef broth powder (?). I took the leaf out after about ten minutes - it was smelling very green! But I haven't had bay leaf in the house for literally centuries!! They never really recommend flavoring the starch, like rice or quinoa - then you have to sauce or vinaigrette it to death.

MKAC-sorry you slipped and hurt your knee. I hope you recover quickly. I know it must be frustrating since you were getting better.

Healed: What did that illness come out of nowhere? Ugh. Hope you feel better.

Ike: That dinner looks yummy.

Hello everyone. I went to the mall today. Then ran errands, then out to dinner. Came home, seeded 3 more pomegrantes so I have them for the week, and now H is sitting here watching previews on demand looking for a movie for us to watch. By the time he finds a movie..I'll be sleeping.

Speaking of which, I'm tired. Gonna take a little nap.
Thanks for this!

Just checked the graduated license rules and I thought there was an exception for school events to the Cinderella rules for driving here. No exceptions so I guess that means I have to drive me H to S's school to drive him home...

11pm seems really early on the weekend to tell 17 years olds they have to be home...but as a parent its a great curfew (is that how you spell that I didn't have one when I was a kid)

CE Thanks for the bunyip nick, but according to Dreamtime legend in my neck of the woods bunyips are quite fierce and terrifying creatures, akin to Yowies (Yetis,Abominable Snowmen etc) I othter areas I believe they were depicted as benign creatures. The closest thing I can think of is that creature mentioned in Split Enz Dirty Creature.

Things are going well. Good to see you.

That is probably the last time I make that dish. It was very good, but I messed up every pan in the house.

Is your young exchange girl still homesick?
Is the eggplant crumbed or battered?
Thanks for this!

She is still somewhat homesick, but improving(I hope).

Eggplant is dredged(flour-egg wash-bread crumbs). Here is the recipe.

Hi Ike. Thanks for seeing me.
I love that you share your culinary adventures. I love eggplant but that looks like way too much work for me. I had take-out eggplant with garlic sauce instead....no messy pans at all
Thanks for this!

Apparently you can't see their posts and I'm assuming any threads they make. I don't know if you see replies to their post or what.

Ha I guessed that was your recipe!! Paul Prudhomme is a running joke with me and my t.

Re ignores: you can see their threads, other people's posts, but their posts have a one-line message that you have this person on ignore. Also, if you try to post to someone who is ignoring you (thread or post), you get a fail message. Im pretty sure!
Thanks for this!

Disclaimer, Hankster. I do not subscribe to K Pauls directions- re: roux. Oil heated to 500 degrees is asking for trouble in my book, or a house fire(but most certainly burned roux). I make roux the old-fashioned way.
