Today I felt as though T was just going through the motions. As a result I guess the session wasn't that great. We just ended up going round in circles. I'm an amateur debater so I can tell when someone is chasing their own tail. I also make a lot of eye contact and she looked bored.

Does anyone else experience this?

I think I've got a really good T, but he has his off days. He lost his father about a year ago, when I was having weekly sessions with him, and I never even knew about it. It also turns out he has had chest pains from a chronic condition and about 3 more minutes of that pain and he would have called 911. Again, I never knew, but I sensed something was off.

All I'm trying to say is what I've discovered in retrospect is that T's are human and they have lives and not everything is about us. If your perception was that your T was just going through the motions on one particular day, you're probably right. But it might not have anything to do with you personally. This is why it's important to bring these feelings up in session. (Easy to say, but I sure don't always do it myself ) There could have been something in her life that caused this. If it bothers you, bring it up and give her a chance to explain. Don't just carry it around with you & worry

What about you?

Do you feel you were going through the motions? Did you try to dig deeper and take any risks? Takes two to tango. If you want to shake things up, shake them up!
Thanks for this!

Yes, it was the session after I had told her some very personal stuff.

I have been late a few times lately though, and have missed a few appointments.

A few sessions ago I thought she was pregnant, but I haven't noticed since. Maybe she is hiding it with darker clothing and I haven't been able to see the bump. I wouldn't be surprised if she was distracted due to pregnancy.
