So funny moment, I forgot to mention. So we were discussing my anxiety which led to us discussing my mentors abilities to help me meditate which led us to his office, and me describing what's in it, "Yeah he has peace cranes all over and peace signs dangling from the ceiling, he has a birdhouse with a rainbow colored brain on top of it on his shelf, his table is filled with organic tea, and he has an action figure of Sigmund Frued. Oh he also has chili mango pops and Bertie Botts every flavored beans!" She goes, "Berttie--what?" Me:"From Harry Potter." T: "I've never seen the movies or read any of the books..." Me: "WHAT?! ARE YOU ****ING SERIOUS MAN?"

I was kinda babysitting a neighbor's 16 year old son, so while we waited for our movie to start, we got a box of bertie botts jellie beans and compared who could keep the yucky ones in their mouth the longest without spitting them out. This is what happens when you deprive children of their childhood!

I'm well known at the high school as the teacher who's the Harry Potter nerd. I have random kids wander into my room to check out my Deathly Hallows movie posters (real ones that were displayed in the local theater--they're HUGE). It's funny how many closet Harry Potter fans walk the school halls, including big burly gang members which I find hilarious.
Last month a group of boys came into my room and asked me if I would be the sponsor of a school Quidditch team. I never thought I would be sitting down with my principal selling the idea of a Quidditch team, but there I was showing him the computer presentation that the boys had created (such nerds - I say that with greatest affection). The team has been approved, nearly 50 kids are joining, and practices with start soon. Yup, Harry Potter fan here. |

How old is your t? If you are from different generations you aren't going to have the same cultural references. I am in my 40s and never read it seen them.
