Hi everybody, just got off the phone with my t and one of the things we talked about was how i avoid going to the doctor when i need to go. But one of my goals for this year is to take better care of myself in that respect. So i did promise her i would make a doctor appointment in the next week or two.

I am really afraid of doctors, for various childhood reasons. However, i go to the same doctor as my T and i KNOW the doctor is safe and nice. I went to her a couple of years ago when t was still living here. I know this dr is safe. But still afraid!! ive also got young inside alters who are completely terrified of doctors. Its bad enough to them already that we are going to the dentist next week

So..i could realy use encouragement AND people to bug me to make a doctor appointment, i would say make it within the next week, and not put it off. Thank you in advance!!

I know for me that the longer I avoid something, the more scarey it becomes. Your rational mind knows this is safe, so I would say go for it. And once you have had your appointment, you're likely to feel so relieved and I hope proud of yourself. You can do this

Can you make the appointment via e-mail? That's how I usually make them... If it's not possible, my H calls for me...

Just went to a. Dr appt today real quick for my asthma,and he brought up that i havent had a physical in a long time so we made an appointment for that. I mentioned i was about to make an appt for my girly yearly thing with a dr that is an hour drive away and he said why mot just have it done here at my office so you dont have to drive.
So i said sure why not. So the appt is schedule for end of january.
So not with t's dr after all, but at least it is made.
Ugh.

I think that is great Starry Night!

As long as you feel comfortable with your doctor, that's what's really important. Whether your T gets her annuals done at the same place is neither here nor there. I presume that maybe your T was recommending her Gyno, as she goes there herself and she feels safe & not hurt. I could be wrong..but that's what makes sense to me.

Family Medicine doctors certainly have a wide variety of experiences, especially if they've been doctoring for 10 years (or more). So ~ great job!!

Is your asthma doing a little better now? I just saw a clip on the news tonight saying that this winter is especially difficult for asthmatics and those who have respiratory problems. They said to always carry your quick-acting inhaler and some pills with you. {Just in case no one else heard this piece of news. }
