As you know my closure session was last thursday, but my next appt is this thursday with the new t, but my old t will be present for a bit, so this morning I left a message for my old t on her vm to call me back that it was important.

Well a couple of minutes ago, I get a call asking if this was sweepy, I said yes and she said well this is (new t) OMG almost fainted, she said I am calling because your old t fowarded your message to me, and I thought I would give you a call.

I asked her why, and she said, because I am your new t now, and I suppose its very confusing for you and its ok, after the closure session, your old t, cannot communicate with you, but she will be present this thursday.

I told her that, this whole thing is very upsetting and confusing and i feel like a foster client lol, dont know who is who and who stops or starts being my therapist. She told me its normal and not to worry.

She also told me she is looking foward to start our first session together, and we can start talking on current stressors, and eventually csa. No rush. She also set me up for my next appointment.

She also gave me her direct number for her office, without having to call a main line through receptionists. OMG, too much niceness .

I m upset because I feel like a fool leaving my old t a message I didnt know I couldnt communicate after last week, being that we didnt finish the transition yet.

Thank you, I swear I had like a mini anxiety thing going on, is she trying to gain my trust? She even said she went through some of my file, that was scary.

She's sounding really kind and patient. Sounds like they weren't clear with you about some of the details, and that she didn't blame you at all for that and understood, and was there for you. Was it like that?
Thanks for this!

Yes, exactly, they were not clear, but she cleared everything up, told me not to, worry because it was not explained to me.

i would have thought the same as you Sweepy, that old T was still your T till this Thursday for the last 15 mins.

I think it's very tough on you to just cut off access but i can also see why. Just a crappy situation isn't it? But your new T sounds just lovely and very capable and thorough.

I can see where the confusion was and think that it is great that new t did get back to you. She IMHO is trying very hard to make your transition go smoothly for you. Was she able to help you with the problem you originally left old T vm for?

Auntie: yes she was once I got over the shock of her calling me. I asked her how much she knew of my past (CSa) except I didn't mention the CSa part. And she said she already has read my file and she knows there is much more I did not tell my old t, but that we are not delving into that right now, because she knows the relationship is not ready yet .

At that point I almost fainted lol she said we would work on current stressors

Sweepy I saw the same T for over 10 years. Even though I told her about CSA from the start we din not start working on those issues until I was comfortable with her. It was only one aspect of what we talked about. T used to tell me that my CSA history came in installments. When I resolved another issue it made the CSA stuff easier to talk about so we would work on it some more but only for a session or two before changing the focus to other more pressing matters.

You are the one that will know when the time is right to open up with new T. That is not to say that new T might not mention CSA during a session though. She may even push you a little when she feels that it might be time but only you will know when the time is right. Please just try to give new T a chance. It sounds like she is being very kind and want to help you very much.

Thank you it does seem that way time will tell as for right now I'm really insecure about the therapeutic relationship , so I guess I will work on that first.
