I've met with this new T for only seven times but don't think things are moving in the right direction. We're doing trauma therapy which I absolutely despise and I miss my old T. She has told me to express my needs to the new T which I understand and will do at the next session.
Am I being irrational? Anyone else have a similiar experience?

I think you just need to make sure you aren't running from your trauma. If you want to quit because you don't want to deal with your trauma, maybe she is taking things too fast. However, if it is genuinely her or the way she does things that's the problem, it would be worthwhile to bring it up and see if she is willing to change something to better accommodate you. If not, maybe it's a good idea to find a new T.

I can't make the best decision for you since there are so many things about you and your circumstances I don't know, but HazelGirl is asking the right questions. Do you feel like you want to leave because you don't want to confront your trauma and it's associated issues? Or is she not handling your issues with the proper sensitivity. Do you trust and like your therapist, and feel like you can develop a relationship with him/her?

I see what you mean like rebelling like an angry child. I'll ask her to slow down in my next session. Thanks!

In response to genejaelee I'm not running from my issues but trust my other T more. Even though she doesn't specialize in trauma. I guess she's afraid for me to come back if I haven't fully dealt with it in which I have had to do on my own as a teen and now as a young adult. I do not trust her and do not see a long term relationship forming.
