My T called me Tuesday to say she'd referred me to another service for counselling. My last session with her is on Monday.

Yesterday (Thursday) a woman from social services called my mum and left a message about a referral. No details of the referral were included, so my mum doesn't know what it's about. However, social services have been involved before, and things haven't gone down well at all.

I am REALLY freaking out and panicking and I'm so scared and on edge about this phone call, and I'm dreading this weekend - I'll be a nervous wreck 24/7 and I've cringed and felt my heart beating 100 miles an hour whenever the phone rang.

It's just 2 days until I see my T for the final time, and that's going to be hard enough. But now this has happened, things are so much worse.

On top of that, my mum and sister both laughed at me earlier when I said I wanted to study mental health nursing at University. They said they were "nutters", "freaks" and "crazy".

That really hurt.

So bad.

I just don't know how I'm going to get through these 2 days. I have no idea what I'm going to do if my mum finds out about counselling...I know it should be a good thing if she finds out, but I can't see it. When I OD'd, things got very very bad, and I do NOT want a repeat of that... I just hope they don't call back...

Your family sounds horrible.

The social worker may have called to schedule an appointment with a new T. Can you call them back?

They called my mum specifically... and what worries me is the fact that my T said that she'd told this new unit that I'd prefer it VERY STRONGLY that they not tell my mum...and I'm thinking they might have just ignored this completely and got social workers involved

I can't call them back personally because I don't know the number, and my mum already tried calling them back but their offices were closed, and I'm not sure if they work weekends (I desperately hope they dont)

I just cannot wait to get out of here

That's very lame. Can you talk to your T about it when you see her on Monday?

I probably will, I think that will probably be the only thing I'll talk to her about, just because I am so distressed over this, and I am not prepared to deal with this right now...

I'm very sorry this is happening to you. Can you call your Therapist or email her, and ask her to call or email the agency to speak to her before she rings your house? Or ask if you can have the number or email to contact them to head them off provided you are eighteen. I know what it was like for me to not be supported by family — it sucks to high heaven.

Good luck to you adhm.

Unfortunately my therapist isn't at work, and her offices don't open on the weekends... I emailed her on Tuesday because I was in crisis, so I wouldn't feel right emailing her again... And she doesn't check her emails over the weekend, an experience I've painfully learned from...
