I don't know the dynamics of the relationship nor do I know you well enough to know whether he's doing the right thing. He may think you're not ready, and that only talking about it (without the opportunity to practice) won't help very much. Maybe you can ask him why it is that you need to wait until you are ready for a relationship to talk about eventually being in one.

I hate it when a T is dismissive. That's the opposite of validating, and doesn't make for a good listener, either.

![]() No, I don't think it's the Ts job to say which topic should be discussed and for how long. I can well imagine how boring I must sound with some of my "evergreens" but my T still listens and offers his perspective. Though, from time to time he does mention stg along the lines of as I was saying the previous time/you know what I think about this... But that's it. I'm changing but it takes a time. ![]() |
