Last night at the beginning of our session my T told me that she's decided to quit the practice and move back to her hometown. Surprisingly I'm not that upset. I've been working with her for about one year. My last T also quit on me suddenly so I guess I'm used to it. The last T got sick all of a sudden and we couldn't even do a final session so that was tough. But my current T has been kind of dropping hints that I should change to an EMDR therapist for the last few weeks so she's kind of prepped me I guess. And she's given me the names of several EMDR therapists in my town so I'm not left on my own to find someone. And to be honest our talks have been getting kind of stale. Every week I talk about the same thing. She did try and do EMDR with me over Skype but it didn't do anything for me, maybe because it was over Skype. I do really hope that EMDR will be able to help me because I'm sick of dealing with the same issues for so long.

Hope all goes well, this would have been the case with me and my 4 year Therapist had I not had to leave due to an insurance change (and it would have been only a few months later).

I get sad when I read others who struggle when their T stops seeing them. I am still in that transition... she saw me one time already since 2 months not seeing me on her own time and no pay. I am struggling so much with attachment.

I understand what you mean about having someone who understands you well. It's so important but so hard to find.
