Don't know about the UK but here in the USA we have rape crisis centers and hot lines services. You might try that.

IDK about how the UK rates their doctors. I think one who specializes in trauma, and PTSD would be best, if you do have a choice.

I'm sorry for your past, and hope you can learn how it affects your present, so your future will be a good one! psychotherapists which one

Hello Kazza,

Can you talk to your GP doctor about this? Your GP will be able to refer you to a psychologist or psychotherapist.

If not, you could contact MIND- the mental health charity who could point you in the right direction for support in your area.

Hi Kazza,
Im sorry you had to go through that and the effects it has on your life. myself is right though. i think the rape crisis centre is the way to go. as far as i understand gps are not too helpful in the uk (im from ireland but have lived in uk for 2 years) and it takes forever to get in to see a counsellor so perhaps the crisis centre can move through the red tape faster and in a more directed way.
good luck to you in finding a way to heal. and keep at it no matter how many dead ends you come to because it is worth it in the end and you will get there!
take care
