I would be deeply touched if this happened with my T. It would tell me she cared so much that she chose to let her feelings show. (I think they often won't do this. They are observing, and not necessarily participating).

Frankly I think I would just drop dead on the spot if my T cried in therapy. I have shared some harrowing stuff and wept myself and I always find it incredibly reassuring that my T shows no negative emotion at all. Where else do you get that kind of security? I love seeing him laugh, but that is something else altogether. I'd feel horrible knowing I'd upset him. I suppose that's something I should work on really but still.
Thanks for this!

I had my first therapy appointment today. I was discussing my troubled upbringing (abuse) matter of factly , no emotions. The male therapist had tears in his eyes, watery. Im not use to someone caring or showing compassion so it was new to me but didn't make me uncomfortable. Likely felt bad I made him cry.
