T said she is not allowed to hug clients but now she has a teddy bear for that purpose, and clients can hug that if they want.

Does your T have a similar regime? Would you participate in this?

I would only do it if I was talking at the same time, I wouldn't stop and hug the bear for extended periods of time without doing anything else.

No, that would definitely not be my thing whether my therapist hugged or not. Just a bit too weird for me. He does hug on occasion, but hugs aren't something I particularly need from my therapist. I get plenty from my husband and sons and other family and friends. We are naturally huggy people.

No. One of the therapist's pluses for me, is that she has no stuffed animals anywhere as far as I know.

I would initially be like "aww, cute." Then, I'd get to thinking and it would be a little weird to me when I start thinking about other people hugging it and its probably full of random smells and germs and i'd just be like - um, no thanks.

My T is okay with hugs. But I think that's a cute idea. I like teddy bears (and we were actually talking about that today) and I use them for my own comfort.

No, it would be way to strange for me. The presence of any stuffed animals in an office would be weird for me.

No I would not want to hug a teddy bear at session, I could hug a stuffed animal at my house.
