My former T terminated me 10 months ago. It was an awful termination, one I'm still trying to process with my current T.

Last week, I was on FB, and made the startling discovery that I have a friend in common with my ex-T. The friend isn't anyone I'm close to, just know on FB, really. But ex-T popped up in my feed after the mutual friend had commented on ex-T's post about her father dying recently.

My ex-T is not super technologically adept, and said as much in her post, that she's never really on FB. It was super weird to read her post, which was really quite emotionally raw, and included all kinds of info about her family.

Reading it triggered a whole wave of emotion related to missing her, wishing I could offer condolences, and also feeling slightly dirty, like I'd been stalking her or something. It's weird to know things about her that she doesn't know I know.

Just wanted to share, because it was a jarring experience for me, that I don't feel able to talk about with anyone IRL (except my current T - I did talk about it with her).

I am sorry. I can imagine that would cause a lot of conflicting emotions. Can you block your former T so it doesn't happen again? She will never know she was blocked.

It happens, I inadvertently found the Facebook page for a former Group Therapist of mine, who told me and the other person in the group that she didn't have a Facebook account, and I know she was lying because her join date was years before we did Group Therapy together.

That's a good idea, thanks. I'm not so FB savvy myself, so I'll have to go figure it out.

Did she actually use her page during the entire time because I know many people who started FB accounts and then didn't really use them. Their start date shows, but that doesn't mean they actively used their page. In fact, I swear some of them have forgotten they even have one.

I'm not really sure but I guess it was the whole principle on it, I started a whole thread a few months back detailing it so you can always dig that up, I really don't feel like getting into all the details. I do know though that she used it in the last few months when she commented on a page about the dinning room table that she had just gotten done at the time.
