I'm in a weird situation...

I had to find a new primary doc recently and asked my pdoc for a referral to a doctor in the building she works. Here's the weird part:

So my pdoc has a dual doctorate in both normal medical and psychiatry. She mostly does psychiatry now. My new primary doc is the same!!! She has a dual doctorate. In fact my pdoc and primary doc graduated from the same program and both fill in for each other.

So if my pdoc has a leave of absence...my primary doc might be my pdoc. And if my primary doc has a leave of absence (which she will because she's pregnant), I might wind up with my pdoc as my primary. This is going to confuse the hell out of me.

I don't want my pdoc to know things about my body, and I don't want my primary to know things about my mental health. I think that gives one person too much power.

Anyone have this weird sort of relationship with doctors? And if so, how do you keep them straight?

I think it is valuable for my GP to know about my mental health. (She's the one I go to for meds, after all.)

Also, I told my T that I am diabetic. I think he needs to know.
