I just came across this article from What a Shrink Thinks, and it resonated with me a whole lot, and got me thinking. I forwarded it to my t, and thought maybe someone here would appreciate it.

What an excellent article! It's something I intuitively suspected, but this writer explains so much and so well. Thanks, CameraObscura, for highlighting it.

Thank you sincerely for this article. It's a real eye opener if only I can muster the strength to hold my lids up and absorb it.
Thanks for this!

She refers to books by michael eigen that look interesting. Anyway, this seems in line with the only known cure to date for hoarding being intensive therapy.

Thank you for sharing, CameraObscura. I loved this article, and have added it to my reference library. It's totally the opposite stop whining article I read about in another thread. I'm even planning to share this article with my kiddo.
Thanks for this!

She nails it! I love Martha Crawford, she has a beautiful piece on love in the therapy room as well, someone posted it here the other day again.

I don't think it's totally the opposite. The person still has to be willing to look inward and address the thing that is stopping him or her from changing.

Thanks for this link. I liked what she had to say. I also read several of her other articles, and she sounds like a great T, who really cares about her clients, yet also knows her limits and boundaries.
