I was interested in what you guys share with your T?

I share my journal, drawings and some poetry with mine. And Monday I'm going to show her the flip book I just made out of index cards. The title is I AM. and each index card has a good quality of mine like: Important, deserving, worthy, loved, caring, compassionate, valuable, etc.

It shows how much my self esteem has improved since living in the home
Thanks for this!

Drawing/sketching is one of my few interests. Turns out my T once wanted to be an animator but she's terrible with computers so she never pursued it any further than just as a hobby. I usually come prepared to my sessions with a folder filled with notes of things I want to say to her, but I also keep a lot of paper in it and last week when I opened it up she noticed some of my "artwork" and commented that it looked professional. It was a portrait of Harley Quinn the comic book character and another one of Frankenstien and his Bride.

Little does my T know I also have a few portraits of her in the same folder. I would never have normally shared this with her, but since it's a common interest I might show her more of my stuff next time since she said she would show me some of her old stuff.

I show her pictures all the time.

Some of my writing.

I shared with her a song I wrote.

I think I even brought in my childhood scrapbook once - though I can't remember if it was her or my previous T. Hmmm...since we're discussing my childhood, maybe I will bring it on tuesday again and have it my bag and if I haven't shown it to her, I could then. Not only does it show pictures of me growing up and stuff, but it also shows my creativity.

I have written some things. I did a power point presentation once to see if bullet points and graphics would help her understand.

Now I think of it, a bit of many things. Poetry, books, music, items with emotional value, therapy-related articles, pictures, my needlework, ... Not many of each, but many types of things, it seems.

I love the idea of a flip book, Daeva! Similar to that, recently I've brought in a gift that someone gave me: a framed white puzzle. On each puzzle piece was written a word that described me, like "driven" or "sensitive." The gift meant a lot to me, and I knew I had to show my T. Reflecting back on it, maybe I brought it because I wanted T to confirm those positive things about me.

I've also shown her what my journal looks like, but she hasn't ever read it.
Hugs from:
