That might depend on what's causing the block.

Like BonnieJean said, might depend on what's causing the block.

I can tell you my experience though! When I first started with current t, I had just come through the worst of clinical depression after being on meds for a year but my pdoc at the time continued to suggest talk therapy as a complement to meds. I finally got brave enough to start. And at that time, I only knew that I wanted more out of my life than the depression I was still struggling with even while on meds. So! I found t and we began. I didn't even give a thought to this possibility - but after about 3 months, I began writing poetry again. I had locked up that creative part of myself tighter than a drum and thought I had thrown away the key waaaaay back in 1987 but without me even realizing it at first, t and I found and unlocked my writing during that first 3 months. I've been writing poetry again ever since and a couple years ago, even self-published a book of my poems. So for me, therapy definitely helped me unlock my creativity again. And has helped in a bunch of more ways besides. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide!
Thanks for this!
