I was emotional going into therapy today, my emotions all over the place. I told her how my week went, also told her about a ptsd nightmare I had, spoke about it a bit. Then we started to talk about what reassurance meant to me, and I use alot of metaphors to explain things.

We spoke about my emotions and feelings, and how I am scared to not be in control of things, relationships, we did not touch csa, She says we are going to talk about that as we planned, but also strenghen emotional regulation, because she wants me to express what I am feeling in session, instead of going silent or wanting to change the subject.

She says there is like a elephant in the room, where we both know I am feeling strong emotions , but she wants me to tell her what they are, either sad, anger ect..
Lately for me its been more sad shame vulnerable and almost wanting to cry, i have not voiced that.

So we made a deal, that from now on in session, when ever I am having feelings, i should tell her, t I am feeling this way or that way, and we will work on those feelings.

Also she said she was thinking about me, and bought me this small canvas with a stand thing art thing, with a brush and water, you draw and within ten minutes your drawing disappears. She said she knows I comunicate better that way, and I am the first client who, speaks more through art. lol. She also said she was using the act approach also cbt something else too but I forgot

I know all about that, I have been seeing my current Therapist for 3 months now and I think we are just starting to get passed the "getting to know each other phase".

that's great your T bought the buda board to use in sessions ... I guess if there is a drawing you do that you want kept you could photograph it if they vanish after ten minutes?

thanks for the update on todays session

Yes tiger girl it's what I'm feeling in the moment and as it vanishes so do the feelings some sort of mindfulness thing . She made me feel special I didn't tell her. I felt some kind of emotion when she said she was thinking about me when she bought it.
