I have been with my current therapist for 3 1/2 years and think it's time to change. I just don't feel I'm getting as much out of it as I should be. The problem is I don't know how to tell her or even how to bring it up. In the past I just didn't show up and never came back. However, that's not how I am today.

Anyone else been in this situation or have any suggestions?

Maybe be honest? She might be able to change techniques or show you some of what you're not seeing. There may be more positive growth going on than you realize.

Different therapists have different things to offer.
I got stuff from Mr T I never would have got from Madame T and vice versa.

Changing therapists is easier than getting a therapist to change.
