Well it's all over with my Therapist, I just had my final session with her. I would say overall a great wrapup session, I gave a good recap over the things we discussed and the progress we made over the last four months and I mentioned that even though our time together was brief that I think that I learned a lot of stuff from her that I will carry with me forever. I gave her my goodbye card and she told me that she liked it a lot and it was very fitting, she than gave me the goodbye hug that I thought was very satisfying (I was worried that it may seem a little scripted) she did rub my back which even though I am not crazy about I really didn't care about it. I start with my new Therapist next Wendesday. Thanks again for all of the support from everyone on here.

Sending hugs your way. Last sessions with important T's are very hard. I'm glad that you got everything out of it that you had hoped for.

I'm happy though that you have the opportunity to embark on a great journey with your new T. Here's to hoping that you will get what you need out of that relationship as well.

I remember we both started with our new therapists right about the same time. I hope your stay with the new t will be longer.

I'm glad you had a good final session, RT. I hope your new T will prove to be at least as good as this one. It's great that you got a session with her next week, so you don't have to get an enforced break at this point.
Thanks for this!

Sorry it's happened to you...

But this what you write in your profile is so true and nice --> "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"

Yeah my Therapist has told me several times over the last few weeks that she thought it was very nice quote, I told her that it was a Dr. Seuss quote but she said that she had never heard it before. She also told me that she mentioned the quote to several of her outgoing clients.

It sounds like you had the best ending session you possibly could, I'm glad for you. Have you met your new T yet?

RT, I feel a little sadness for you, but more of what I feel is a bundle of hope for you, and your next therapist. I gather from your postings that you are a determined young man. Best wishes in the next phase of your voyage.

I hope so too, and I very much think that my next Therapist can be just as good (especially since she is also the assistant director at the Therapy place).

During my bi-weekly conference call tonight the other person who was a part of it tonight mentioned it right at the beginning of the conference, I told him at the last conference call that my Therapist would be leaving me in 2 weeks and that there was a conference call scheduled for that night, he echoed the same thing that everyone else on here is saying, that he was sad that things were over with this Therapist but is hopeful that I will succeed with my next Therapist. I also found it interesting that even though we only meet once every other week we have had a conference call after all 3 of my final Therapy sessions with a Therapist (either planed or unplanned).

I think its finally starting to sink in that I will likely never see my ex-Therapist again.

RTerroni...I'm so sorry you had to end with this T. Don't forget that while you've had termination sessions with this T you may find you still need to process this with new T...and that is entirely OK. I'm sure things will get a bit better with time.

Although it is a little different this time, I was able to have a very satisfying final session unlike in the past, and also unlike in the past there will he no time in-between where I won't be seeing anyone.
