A poster asked about this book: Secrets Unraveled- Over Coming Munchausen Syndrome. I read it, and it is an excellent book for those journeying through ED, CSA, cutting, SI, most all attachment issues stemming from atrocious parenting.
My ex therapist and I had a conversation about the book, because I told her it was similar to our story. The book I would want us to write. I do not have Munchausen's, the character and I were seeking the same thing. To accept that we had value and worth, and that we mattered to someone no matter what. My therapist is planning to read it ASAP. It also gives the reader a chance to see the thinking and feelings of a therapist sloshing through the abyss of poor attachment. My ex therapist question to me the other night, " Do you know if the Library has it?" What's a library? I thought to myself. Just kidding. I want to sincerely thank the poster that asked about the book. I search high and low for the thread, the poster to thank them, but the thread is gone, transferred. Thanks again. I am hoping this thread does not get removed, because I believe this book has valuable as a journey for so many that are dancing–negatively and positively with their therapist at this moment. Goingtogetthere, I'm not sure what happened to the original thread. I looked and did not have any luck either.

It still boggles my mind. I think that so many of the people here on this particular forum will get a lot from the therapist response to his client, and also the client herself, because her life issues and emotions are what many of the threads and post are about on PC. It would be a shame if people are dissuaded not to read it, because of the Munchausen subtitle. Their story is about attachment. Period! |
