Do you feel 60 minutes once a week is enough time to deal with child trauma?
I am afraid we will stir things up but I won't be able to pack them back away.

God, No! however, that's all the time I have, so I have to work with it.
When we were getting to the real depths of our work together, I would have an extra session during the week if I could afford it and my T had a spare session.

A good T, if you ask, will help you to find ways to 'pack it away' until the next time, and suggest things that may help you to do that.

No, often our appointments run over. And I'm glad because it's really hard.

Is it possible for you to have a second appointment sometimes?

I had 60 min at the beginning but it was not enough... With previous T I had 2 x 50 min and it was even worse... Now I have 1 x 90 min and it is perfect for me... I have the feeling that in 90 min I can say much more... With 60 min I needed 20 min to think what to talk about, conclude the previous session and discuss the e-mails, then I was talking for 20 min, then my T was talking a bit and then I was feeling that it wasn't worth anymore to start a new topic because the time was almost up... It was pretty frustrating... 90 minworks for me... Maybe your T could give you some more time when you need it?

Good idea,
I have asked her about having a second appointment during the week, but she only sees patients on Thursdays and Fridays. She said it wouldn't work.

I'm going to ask her if we can have longer sessions....or, maybe, scheduled phone contact through the week (?)

She is so perfect for me in every other way....

We'll see how it goes.

I wish she would do this! I'm going to ask her about longer sessions tomorrow.

I would do two one hour sessions when things got rough. Not sure how our what will work with new t.
I hope you can figure out some way to get the time in you need.

Hope she can accommodate your needs. When I first started with former T, I saw him twice a week, once for 90 minutes, then for 50 minutes. Plus, I could call if I needed to, and even occasionally schedule a 3rd session. It was what I needed for several years. Now I go weekly.

Not at all enough time. I do a session once a week and talk to my t once a day usually.

Not enough time at all. It takes a few minutes to warm up and work up the nerve to go into those topics and, if the T is competent and responsible, there needs to be time for grounding at the end. So that leaves a good 20-30 minutes (depending on how easy or hard it is to warm up some days) to deal with trauma.

I used to have really long appointments when I was her last one every week but now I'm in the middle of the day twice a week and it just doesn't work well.
