That's my post
I also sit in the middle of the couch with an ankle over my knee (sometimes I change the ankle if it gets uncomfortable), I think that the couch is pretty uncomfortable but I don't touch anything, nor use the pillows...

Sometimes there is a sign in the lobby announcing that the air conditioning is not working, so i will say to the guard at the front desk, "oh no not another naked session!" And we both laugh. So pretty comfortable. T and i will foot wrestle for the ottoman. We're both very jokey, but also very serious.

T got new chairs and we both agreed neither of us liked them but had no choice but to get on with them. They don't have arm rests and are like regular waiting room chairs, and I always have my bag on my lap like protection.

I complained about the placement of the chairs, that I was always looking at his blimmin white board( I hate when he writes stuff up, so now he very rarely does).......and he challenged me and said...well you could choose to sit where I do.

I want to...but haven't got the courage up to do so yet! Either that or on his desk chair so I can swivel around while we talk.

I sit up, lie down, sit on the floor, have a pillow and she covers me with a blanket. I feel blessed that she always heats up the room and encourages me to do anything (within reason) in the room. Sometimes she will stand behind my head and put both her hands on the temples on my forehead and leave them there in silence.

I sit in a chair with my handbag in my lap for protection... The more tense the session is the more I fiddle with my bag...

You should totally do it I remember when I had a session and I was feeling particularly low and frustrated. Normally I always sat in the regular chairs, but I came in and was like, "I'm going to sit on the floor" in this very assertive tone and he was like, "Sit wherever you want. Get comfy."

Idk. Ever since his office has felt a bit more "homey" to me :P

With my ex-T I just sat on a couch never did anything out of the usual adult sitting positions. Now with my new T it is a different story! We sit in comfortable wicker armchairs with blankets on them. I usually fold myself up and sit sideways looking out the window rather then facing my T. Also as she is body T too I do exercise and lie down and stuff ... so yeah I would never dream this possible with my previous T.

We both sit on the floor, sometimes we lay down and talk while we color and I have a teddy bear and some toys that stay in her office.

None of my T's have couches. Just chairs. They sit across from me. I fiddle and fidget while I'm talking. Or listening. But it's a safe place to dump how I really feel.

I generally lay down at some point and t will sit where I want her to, so in a chair, beside me, on the floor. She also covers me with the blanket sometimes when I'm cold and it feels a very caring gesture.

T shares her offcie with two other T's and has two rooms she uses. In the small one, I just sit quite straight in the soft chair, as I hate that one. The chair is too narrow for me, and I can't feel really comfy in it.
The bigger room has really comfy soft chairs, I used to only be able to sit on the edge and lean forward, but now I can actually sit back and relax a bit, especially during group. But in group there's this one girl who for the last two sessions swinged her legs above the armrest. T didn't comment or bat an eye, but I was appalled as I considered it a lack of respect, but didn't say anything.

My T has "her chair"...then a loveseat and another chair in the room. I sit on the loveseat, crammed in the corner, closest to the window. My shoes come off, and I usually have my legs under me, or "indian style." There is one pillow. Sometimes its on the loveseat, sometimes the chair, but usually the first thing I do is grab the pillow. I keep it in my lap.

I'm not entirely comfortable...physically yes, mentally, no. I play with my hair a lot, or my necklace.

I don't understand those who sit on the floor? DOes that make you feel safer? My T has never come and sat next to me. She sits directly across from me.

Mine has never sat next to me. idk. I sat on the floor partly because i was feeling so off kilter. Sitting on the floor felt a little like taking control and bucking the thought that one has to sit in a chair or whatever.

i don't do it often. just every now and again when i'm feeling contrary. like contrary to the whole universe, not really my t. which may sound kinda weird.
