How does your child's T handle the sessions? My child is young and sees a psychologist. She emails me before the session and I tell her what our concerns are and give updates. She typically then takes him into a room alone to talk with him for about 20-30 minutes. Then she gives him something to do and comes out and talks to me for about 20 minutes.

Just curious how other T's work with children. Not out of concern - I really like this setup. Just wondering.

It varies. In my case my son is a teenager. Sometimes I'm in for the whole session, but more often maybe a third or so of the session or not at all. It varies. On occasion T will call me back to talk if something has come up that I need to know.

My son's Therapist doesn't talk to us unless she asks my son but that's to my request. I want him to trust her with everything. Unless he wants me there or there is a serious issue.
