I hope I can make a post about it.
What do you think about psychedelics like Psilocybin mushrooms for understanding your subconsciousness? I have read that many years ago there were a type of therapy where people take some psychedelics but I think it's illegal in nowadays but people still do it. I know that none of Ts would tell me what to do, I can find the real answer only into myself. When we see dreams we see our subconsciousness but we are lost in a dream and if we run away from a monster we run away but if we knew it's just a dream we would stop and face him. I had lucid dreams and it was really cool but I see them too rarely. I'm afraid I'm losing my sanity if I took psychedelics and I'm afraid of bad trips but I think it can be helpful to face the dark corners of myself. It would be great if I could do it at therapy session, it would be safe and more helpful. |

I think it's scary, but I tried it a couple of times when i was younger. It was fun, but I don't remember how it helped me understand my subconscious more. My T is good at that.
There's Ketamine treatment for depression in the U.S. I've only read about it, but it seems people safely trip undergoing that treatment. |

I think that mushrooms can help but it depends on what you are thinking and doing at this moment. When I took high dose of DXM I experienced something, I tried to open the door but I couldn't and I knew I have to open them. |

I never heard it was dangerous; only have heard good things. I'm not sure i'd try it. Maybe if I was really, really depressed. I know I'd do it before ECT though.
Did you ever do mushrooms? I was going to edit my other post to add: I would never take LSD again-it's too risky. You can really harm your psyche! I've had lucid dreams and OBEs before too...but not in a long time. |

I tried mushrooms in college and I couldn't sleep with the light off for two weeks. I don't have the type of brain that can handle hallucination. My only advice is if you decide to do this is to have a sober person you trust with you and be in a safe place. It was so scary I still shudder thinking about it 12 years later.

I tried mushrooms but very low dose and mixed with alcohol and pot and had no effects. I had delirium with other substance which I don't suggest to anyone, it was just interesting but it wasn't helpful and it wasn't psychedelics but delirium. Ketamine can be dangerous because you can stop breath. I don't know how people take it, in my country it is used only for anesthesia intravenous in hospitals, never heard that people use them for depression, are there any pills? |

I really can't recommend psychedelics and other assorted narcotics
for others, but they have always worked well for me. - To paraphrase the DR- __________________ Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right. R. Hunter |

I didn't know mushrooms were dangerous in mild quantities. They made my friends and I laugh and laugh and laugh for hours. I've only tried them once. I have had transient psychotic symptoms/hallucinations, but I tried these things way before I had any noticable mental health issues. I've heard psychedelics might trigger MI, but I don't know if that true.

In some cultures shaman guided psychedelic experiences aren't unheard of, however the shaman usually somewhat guides the 'trip' or whatever so if problems arise they can guide them through it or whatever. However they think that guidence is very important.
There are people who do it on their own or just with other people but not guided with a shaman obviously...and sometimes people can be misinformed about it or forget the importance of having a comfortable setting to do it in to minimize a bad trip. I have tried psychedelics a few times and had mostly good experiences though I was not really looking for a spiritual aspect at that point so much...I had a bad mushroom trip which scared the crap out of me but after it wore off and I was able to kind of process it I felt like I also kinda learned from it and saw a lot of really deep things of importance. Right now I am giving meds to try to help depression a chance, but I am a bit suspicious they more dull the mind than really help it...so yeah even if I was to attempt psychedelics I think the med I am taking would make it pointless not entirely sure but based on some internet reading i did its likely it interferes with them...but I am hoping mental health research will catch up and they might start studing how psychedelics could potentially help psychological issues if used in the right way, I have heard its possible they may be doing more clinical studies like that but not entirely sure. __________________ Winter is coming. |

I took two pills of Zolpidem (Ambien). I have weird reaction even if I take onepill, doc prescripted me this for sleep year ago but I didn't take it because of derealisation.
Yesterday I took it and yeah there came derealisation, I wrote down all my thoughts and it was about my childhood, I felt like I'm in my countryside where I lived like when I was a child. My mother came to my room and she didn't look like herself (when I took this med people always look weird) and I started to tell her she is not human and tried to explain who she is. It's hard to remember what we talked because Zolpidem cause loss of memory while taken. I will ask her what sh** I was talking Anyway I think it's interesting and something like therapy with myself but it's not for everyone, people can damage their psyche doing this stuff. I will try mushrooms too someday, I hope I won't have panic attack what I usually had when abused meds years ago. |

I tried shrooms once when I was a teen. When we got to my friends house she seen a spider and when I seen her reaction I went to reach out because she seemed so far away and went face first into her mothers curio cabinet.
I woke up to her mother slamming her hand on the counter wanting to know what the F... we took. I tried to get up before my friend confessed but it was too late. Her mother was mad. She cleaned the blood off my eye and made us go to bed. It's a strange situation when your friends momma punishes you. lol I still have the scar but it hides in my wrinkles now. I never did shrooms anymore but there are other psychedelics and tried them a few years later but NEVER after trauma. I would not recommend it but that is based on my own experiences and fears. __________________ I pray that I am wrong, while fighting to prove I'm right. Me~ Myself~ and I . |

I tried mushrooms in Amsterdam last summer. I had a terrible reaction to them, and I used to do LSD without a problem. I'm not sure it is worth the risk. There are other ways to explore deeper levels of unconscious material without drugs. Art, meditation, breath work, etc.
That said, there is ongoing research on the use of MDMA for the treatment of chronic PTSD. Even people who never believed in the use of psychedelics for therapy (which has existed for a long time) are becoming converted to this because the evidence is so strong. A doctor at Harvard explained that MDMA has properties of increasing trust and interpersonal pleasure so that the patient can do intensive therapy and recall traumatic memories feeling more safe than in a normal state. In a way, this is not really the psychedelic aspect of the drug that is considered the key element. __________________ “Our knowledge is a little island in a great ocean of nonknowledge.” – Isaac Bashevis Singer |
