It's week 2 that I missed therapy with my T. Last week was because I slept through it. This week our car isn't safe enough to drive, and we ran out of gas. Finances are really tough, and I can't even afford the $10/session (discounted rate) and I absolutely hate that I can't even afford that. I didn't even call her tonight, because I was trying to find a way I could get to the session, but it didn't happen. And she called, my husband answered, and she just told him to have me call when I'm ready to reschedule. I honestly don't know when that will be at this point. I'm thinking of just quitting with her all together, since I still have another T that I see every 2-3 weeks.

Sorry about your struggles. Is there something in the house you could return to get the $ for fuel or bus fare or taxi--something you bought at a drug store or hardware store?

No there's nothing for now. It's not just this week, it's a struggle every week. I'm borrowing money from my father, but I rather use that on my kids and gas than for therapy. It's not worth it in my opinion when I already have 1 therapist that insurance covers and I don't have to pay anything for.

was this t going to cover things other t did not? could you maybe move up other t to weekly to cover the gaps? or would that not work?

No, they were basically covering the same things, just in a different way. She's a marriage/family therapist, so her aim was more my relationships. I've been seeing my other T for longer, and was seeing him originally weekly until July. I might see if he can switch me back to weekly, but he now has more clients, so I'm not sure.

Wow, I hope your situation changes soon. Are you fairly attached to this therapist? Maybe she'd be willing to entirely waive the fee.

I'm sorry that you're dealing with all this too... therapy is hard enough before you add money problems to the mix... I hope things get better for you soon!
