I am seeing my new Psychologist tomorrow. I really want to see my old doctors but my parents take me to this new one and I am seeing her tomorrow. I am thinking of telling her I want to see my old doctors but am not sure how to bring the subject up with my parents. Any advice?

Sarah, my best advice is to keep an open mind. You might find that you like the new doctor.

So, in terms of being honest and open-minded, I think you should tell your parents that you wish you could continue to see your old doctors, but you are willing to give the new one a try and are hoping for the best!

Sarah, why don't your parents want you to see your old doctors anymore? Did they think the docs were ineffective, or is it something to do with insurance (preferred providers, etc.)? Knowing why your parents want you to see the new doc might help set your mind at ease.

Good luck in your appointment. Maybe the new doc will be amazing.

Have you spoken to your parents about how comfortable you felt with your old doctors and how upset you are about their decision? I hope everything goes well for you, let us know of the outcome.

Sarah have you seen the new T yet? Why not wait until you meet her and see how you feel then. Maybe you will like her more, maybe not. If you don't feel you connect well with her maybe you could tell your parents that.

I hope you will give the new T a chance so you can have the best help available. Take care and I hope it works well.

I have already met her this is about the 3rd visit. It did not go well I was being really bad and kept trying to hurt myself and tried to break toys my parents are really mad at me. I cried and kept saying I don't wanna go back and they said too bad. It sucks so bad and if it was my old doctors and I said I did not want to go my parents would stop taking me in a flash! But to the new one they just say no! I have not really mentoned yet that I would rather see my old onesbut I'm working on it. Thanks everyone! Seeing my new psychologist tomorrow Why they won't take me back, hum I don't know well my old doctors did flip out and they said I should be lockedup for a long time and all this stuff. I was gonna see them until that day came and I was taken to the hospital. Darn!
Oh and I'm going back next week.
