I'm new to this site. found out today that my ther. of 10 years is dying. I'm completely overwhelmed. And feel so alone. She been tremendously important in y life. It is odd b/c I am not a part of her real life and will have no role in her life now.

(((((((sadtherapist))))))) loss of therapist

My heart goes out to both you and your T.

Will you continue to see your T for a while? Or is she too sick? I hope you can continue for a while to get some closure.

I read this book recently about a woman whose therapist was dying. I found it really moving. It is called My Therapist's Dog: Lessons in Unconditional Love

Take care.

((( sadtherapist )))

You must be in shock. A ten-year relationship is deep.

The emotions must be overwhelming. I'm so sorry this is happening.

If you see a P-doc for meds, maybe he/she can help you work through some of this.

Feeling alone, lost and sad is a tough place to be.

We are hear to lean on. We will help if we can.

I am so sorry. I cannot even imagine the pain, especially with a 10 year relationship. You are fortunate that you can gain support from your pdcoc. loss of therapist

I am so sorry to read about this. I can only imagine how painful that must be. I've only been seeing my therapist for a year, but I can tell you that I'd be devastated if he were to become ill. I can imagine how hard it would be after such a long time. My heart goes out to you.
