Has anyone been used this approach in therapy. My psychologist said EMDR wasn't the right approach for me and that trauma therapy using the CBT model was a gentler approach.
Has anyone any experience with this ? What was it like ? Did it help ? Sorry about all the questions. Many Thanks in advance xx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My daughter is doing trauma-focused CBT. I only hear a little about it (she shares as she feels comfortable) but it is helping her tremendously! Self-harm, panic attacks, catastrophizing anxiety, PTSD, and depression. All better than at the beginning of therapy, except the PTSD which was triggered recently and caused her quite the regression.
Good luck! |

Thank you, yes that's the CBT approach my psychologist wants to use.
It's good to hear it's helping your daughter, I hope it helps me. I'm finding its very hard to find anything out about this approach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't know if there's a difference between CBT and trauma focused CBT. My T does some CBT with me, especially for my depression. She most often has me challenging my thoughts and/or rephrasing my thoughts. I find it helpful.
Someone, on another thread, mentioned the android app The Worry Box. I looked it up and look at what other apps Excel at Life made. They make a CBT Self-Help app too which is exactly what my T has me fill out to help with my thoughts.
