My old t referred me to an online pilot cbt 8 week program called " beating the blues" it's an 8 week course which you do from home cbt based, for depression and anxiety.

It was pretty good, every week it was focused on something different, like automatic thoughts, thinking errors, suicidal thinking, there was an empty box to fill in , to write what difficulties you were having that week.

The pilot program was managed by other therapists outside of the building, who set you up with the program username and password . They call you weekly to see how you are doing with the program.

If you answer yes to the suicidal scale , they call to see how you are doing. The program lets you printout the lessons weekly . I'm not sure if you can do this yourself or if you need a therapist . It's beatingtheblues.com/us. And for the uk. It's. beatingtheblues.com/uk

I went and took a look because I think that it's a pretty fascinating idea to be in individual therapy but have a back-up with a structured on-line program. I wasn't able to take a look inside because as a "new client", you need an access code. I'm guessing that perhaps mental health clinics contract with the program to provide extra CBT therapy for their clients.

I did a little bit more looking on line and found that individual people can purchase the program for a little less than $90.00 for the entire eight week program. Seems reasonable. Keep us posted as to how you like the whole eight weeks.

Yeah that's what I thought, it's very good. I'm up to session 4 I have the printouts from each session .
