My t ended up calling because I was trying to conform the appointment time for this weekend (but her voicemail was full so I had to leave a message with the receptionist, who didn't write it down clearly). I think she's figuring me out, because she didn't believe me when I told her I was "alright"... luckily she didn't push the subject, coz I would have been sobbing in short order.

Anyone blatantly lie to their t? Did they figure it out? Did they call you on it?

The only time I lied was when she used to start session by asking "How are you?" I'm so used to giving the typical polite answers of okay, fine, or good. But of course she wanted to actually know how I was doing. So she used to say "B.S.!" Finally, she's learned to ask a different question first like "what did you do this week?" and then ask "how are you doing?"

Other than that, I've never lied.

Huh, she may have figured me out earlier, because she's been doing this for the last few weeks. I have to answer the "what did you do this week" question instead of asking me how I have been doing. I never really figured that out, just noted she stopped asking me how I was and started asking what I did all week... it's harder to give the polite answer to that. She's the first t that ever changed her greeting in response to my automatic answers...

Telling t I'm doing ok is the only lie I've told. Sometimes it's just the automatic response, other times it's that I don't want to face the emotion of the questions.

I do the same thing....I'm fine. Then my T. gives me a look like "yeah right". And then I go into more detail. I used to say what I've been up to but now with 50 min not feeling like enough time, I dive right in.
I have lied once but then in the next session "corrected" my lie by saying I had thought about her question more. I don't really lie now - just talk all around the question and not REALLY answering the question. She knows and has said that I don't trust her, only give her half the story/feeling, am guarded, change the subject, etc. Some of this I didn't even realize I was doing.

If I knowingly and purposely lie, I will correct it afterwards by texting her and letting her know. Most of the time, I lie out of fear so it feels "safer" to do it this way.
