"The kakapo is critically endangered; as of March 2014, with an additional six[4] from the first hatchings since 2011, the total known population is only 126[5] living individuals, as reported by the Kakapo Recovery programme, most of which have been given names.[6] Because of Polynesian and European colonisation and the introduction of predators such as cats, rats, ferrets, and stoats, the kakapo was almost wiped out. Conservation efforts began in the 1890s, but they were not very successful until the implementation of the Kakapo Recovery plan in the 1980s. As of April 2012, surviving kakapo are kept on three predator-free islands, Codfish (Whenua Hou), Anchor and Little Barrier islands, where they are closely monitored.[7][8] Two large Fiordland islands, Resolution and Secretary, have been the subject of large-scale ecological restoration activities to prepare self-sustaining ecosystems with suitable habitat for the kakapo. The New Zealand government is willingly providing the use of these islands to kakapo conservation."

I sent the worst text to my T complaining about the treatment at ED, because they gave more valium a few hours later I was regretful and sent an apology and to help me to not do it again I deleted his number from my phone and threw away my appt card. I now realise I have no way of contacting him as he is not in the phone book.

Nope, but that's not a bad guess. In fact, I made it up.

Probably. Kea are big, smart, aggressive parrots that live in the mountains.

Yes, eating cars it their speciality.
But they probably eat wetas, too, so it all balances out.

Rotorua. But that is unlikely because keas and wetas are (I think) confined to the South Island and can't swim. Rotorua is in the North Island.

Do none of your birds fly? I was sure Keas could fly, or are they that fat from eating rubber they can't make it to the North Is. I thought Keas could carry small lambs?

"The kea (/ˈkiː.ə/; Māori: [kɛ.a]; Nestor notabilis) is a large species of parrot of the superfamily Strigopoidea found in forested and alpine regions of the South Island of New Zealand. About 48 cm (19 in) long, it is mostly olive-green with a brilliant orange under its wings and has a large, narrow, curved, grey-brown upper beak. The kea is the world's only alpine parrot. Its omnivorous diet includes carrion,[2] but consists mainly of roots, leaves, berries, nectar, and insects. Now uncommon, the kea was once killed for bounty due to concerns by the sheep-farming community that it attacked livestock, especially sheep.[3] It received full protection in 1986.[4]"
