I'm so anxious for tomorrow's session. We've been skirting around an issue that I have written an email about, my plan is to read this email out to T. The whole session won't be pleasant for various reasons.

I feel like cancelling. I need to be convinced to go.

Do go, JaneTennison1. From what you wrote it sounds as though this is an important milestone for you. I will be a pocket rider.

Don't cancel! I know you may want to but it is in your best interest not to. It could be a major breakthrough in your therapy

Yes, do go JaneTennison1!

When I don't want to go, here's how I convince myself... as awful and scary as it feels right now, if you don't go - you'll have to deal with those awful, scary feelings ALL WEEK LONG until your next session! And, by then, they'll be DOUBLE (since they'll get worse in the week that your avoiding your T)!

So so so much better to just go, be scared, but go and deal with it now, so that you can feel better and not worry about it for the next week!

Good luck!

Thank you everyone. I'm a mess and feel like throwing up. I want to email her and tell her my nerves but it's not her place to push me into it.

Guilloche - that's a great point and one I'm going to try and hold onto.

Jane... just remember, really all you have to do is show up. After that, T can help you with the nervousness. You just have to get yourself there - can you focus on just that bit?

*good luck* - fingers crossed for you! I hope you make it, and feel some relief and compassion from your T when you get through this!

I just thought I would update this and say I went, I read the email and the world didn't end. I feel better for having got that out there. My T was very patient and encouraging. She said I didn't have to read the email but then would I feel in the same situation next week? I hate when she's right lol. Thanks again everyone.
