Does anyone else have trouble reaching out and contacting your T when you're in need of it?

I feel like a burden to others all the time, even with my T which is crazy because I pay her to deal with me. But I just can't help it. I also have a very stubborn personality so between feeling like a burden and being stubborn, I don't allow myself to reach out for help.

Pretty positive my cuts are infected. They are red, swollen, discolored, and the one clearly has pus in it but it won't drain out. I also feel ill but i don't know if its from the cuts or the amount of cough med. I took last night. Tomorrow is also thanksgiving which makes reaching out 10x harder.

You should do it now. Like you said tomorrow is Thanksgiving and most Ts won't take calls then. Also go to a dr as soon as you have the chance. Infections are nothing to play around with.
Thanks for this!

Go to the ER today. Right now. Call your T on the way and if she doesn't pick up, leave a messages telling her what is going on.

I struggle with why does T have to know? Why is it important to tell her? I feel all that I will do I burden her right before Thanksgiving. Also, even though I'm 19 I still live with my mom and she will surely question why I am going out in the snow. She can't find out.

I don't think the therapist needs to know, but you might want to get something for the infection. Do your drug stores have physician assistant sort of things in them? I use those when I need anti-biotics for sinus infections.

Your T can't help you if she doesn't know. She will be able to help you calm down and give you some advice on how to handle it. She can help you know what to say to the doctors and what to say to your mother.

If those cuts are infected you need to get an antibiotic ASAP.

Good question, I don't think they do. I usually go to walk-in centers when I get sick.

Since yesterday I have been using a cream I got from my dermatologist when I got bitten by a dog. Might not be what I need but at least it's something for now. I feel like I'm just going to ruin the holiday if I act upon it.

Or maybe I just don't care? Maybe I'm using the holiday as an excuse. Maybe I want the infection so I have a chance at death. I don't know. I'm sorry, I don't understand myself.

Go to a walk in clinic, they can clean them and give you antibiotics. Worry about telling your T later. It's triage...deal with the most serious issue first. Infected cuts can cause an infection in the blood stream. That is very dangerous. Do you have CVS minute clinics near you?
After the infections are taken care of then you can tell your T
Thanks for this!

BrokenWarrior.... Please, find a way to get some kind of medical care. If not the ER, one of those walk-in clinics that have been mentioned, or an urgent care type place. Anything to get your cuts looked at.

I'm a little scared for you... I want you to be well, and to not have this get worse. As others have said... get the infection taken care of, you don't have to worry about talking to your T yet, if that is causing you more stress.
Thanks for this!

My irrational side is so much louder then my rational side. Thanks you all for your advise and concern. I don't mean to worry anyone. I will keep a close eye on them and go from there.

It's already bad enough to need medical care. Don't "keep a close eye" on it. Let a doctor see it.

I'm going to see a Doctor tomorrow that kind of knows my history. I guess I will feel more comfortable with her then some Doctor that doesn't even know my name.
