I have another psych evaluation on the 15th, I'm 55 years of age and they have been evaluating me for over 35 year's now. I try to stay positive but as the decade's go bye it becomes more difficult. I am in the exact spot that I was when I first sought help in the late 70s. Alone , isolated, terribly depressed and ashamed at what I have become. I love it when the first question asked by the therapist or psychologist is "why are you here?" . So I think I will politely ask the therapist not to ask me that question as it really tick's me off. Thanks for letting me vent.

I know it can be difficult to keep fighting for yourself as time goes by with no answers. But maybe a fresh pair of eyes will be able to give you the insight you haven't found yet.

i know what it is like to have to tell my story over and over again with each new psychiatrist and t. i am 54 and have been ill for years too. most of my life. i hope you find good ones and it would help if you politely asked them not to ask that question. i'm sure they'll understand.
