And they're giving me a discount ($75) but I can only afford biweekly, but they said that's insufficient contact and maybe I should look into low cost clinics where interns are training.

Bi-weekly is twice a week. Did you mean bi-monthly?

Congrats on finding a new T, by the way. That's a big step in the right direction!

How about seeing them every other week (I think that's what you meant) and see an intern in between. It's not that common to have more Ts but I know of ppl who do that and it seems that it's working for them (even around here, won't name but you probably met them too).

That sounds a difficult choice, I think I would find it hard if it wasn't weekly. Hope you are doing ok.

What happened to the insurance options? Or are they all bi-weekly?
Thanks for this!

There never were any insurance options. They are suddenly full up when they hear eating disorder and BPD. Cowards.

How'd you find the new one? You deserve this. The last one was so hurtful.

Original T referred me out- to an awesome person for my issues- but one she knew didn't take my insurance and charges even more than original T per session.

The new T refused to see me citing financial issues on my part, but offered to let me see the new therapist she just hired for her outpatient eating disorder program at half cost. So I'm seeing that person, who doesn't seem in the least perturbed by my ED or diagnosis.

Still seeing old t though. Got five more "termination sessions" to go.

But after we are done, I'm not sure exactly how to pay for new T more than twice a month unless I get more Bsbysitting jobs this summer.

Feel kind of bummed out. I need $300 a month for 1x weekly, $600 a month for the 2x weekly that I'm accustomed to and need.

Did your old T take insurance?? Can't she refer you to someone who takes insurance? That just seems like an outrageous amount. How do they expect people to get better when they charge such exorbitant fees? I'm sorry.

No, my T says it's not her responsibility to find me a new therapist. She just has to give me two referrals to therapists she knows are good at their job, too bad if they don't work out.

And I've called at least twenty providers on my insurance panel, they hear bpd and eating disorder and suddenly they're totally booked up.

So now I got no therapist.

I don't know if it works this way where you are, but can't you just not tell them about the eating disorder and bpd until you at least get an appt? That way they can't claim to be full. My T knew nothing about me when I first went to see him.
sorry this one hasn't worked out

I don't think you are tricking them by not telling them about your dx...I think it's up to them to meet you, learn about you and then decide.

cuz are you going in there with an agenda? Of course not. I think youre better than that. Youre having a new relationship with a new t. Anything can happen. It doesnt HAVE to be "same shyt, different day."
